Lexington Newborn Care has an experienced, highly skilled, and vetted team of certified Newborn Care Specialists, Postpartum Doulas, Registered Nurses, and Pediatric Sleep Consultants.
Every member of our close team has insurance, is certified in infant CPR, has passed an extensive background check, and has experience working with newborns, including those with special needs and multiples. As the owner of Lexington Newborn Care and a Louisville native, I am thrilled to be able to provide real, much needed support to new families in our community.
Prior to becoming a certified Postpartum Doula and Newborn Care Specialist, I had a long career as a public health scientist. It was rewarding work, but I longed for the one-on-one connections and ability to make a difference in the lives of families.
As a new birth doula, I often stayed connected to the families I had helped during the birthing process, calling just to check in and see how they were doing. I quickly realized families need just as much support postpartum as they do during the birth. That’s what inspired me to offer postpartum doula services.
In our culture, it’s rare for families to experience “village-style care” with others supporting both the parents and the baby. With families living further apart, and in our busy modern lives, postpartum care can sometimes be just what new families need to get through those first few months.
